What is ammonia acidity?

Ammonia is a weak base and its pH is higher than 7. In other words, it is alkaline or basic. The pH of a 1 M solution of ammonia is around 11. However, ammonia can react with water to produce ammonium ions and hydroxide ions. This reaction decreases the pH of the solution, making it more acidic. The acidity of ammonia depends on the concentration of the solution, temperature, and pressure. In general, higher concentrations of ammonia result in lower pH values and hence, higher acidity. Ammonia can also react with acids to form salts, which are not acidic or alkaline in nature.
